Pizza Rev powers up franchise team, adds incentive program

PizzaRev has beefed up its franchise development leadership with the hiring of Ed Yancey as franchising director and Brian Durkin as real estate strategist, according to a company press release.

Yancey comes to the chain from similar franchise development leadership positions at Dunkin' Brands and Jersey Mike's. Durkin was a senior executive at  McDonald's in U.S. and Asia and a Chipotle acquisition/investment team member. 

Under their direction, PizzaRev has launched a royalty incentive program for qualified candidates that offers the following: 

1. For the first 12-months of the franchise agreement, PizzaRev collects 1 percent of restaurant-generated revenues.
2. For the second 12-month period, PizzaRev collects 3 percent of restaurant-generated revenues.
3. For the third through the 10th 12-month periods, PizzaRev collects 5 percent of restaurant-generated revenues.

This tiered incentive applies only to units that franchisees commit to developing in 2018, and allows franchisees to reinvest what would have been spent on royalties back into their businesses. Typically, the royalty fee is a flat 5 percent of revenues.
