Pizzeria owners ''peddling' business in Portland

May 13, 2003

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Under new ownership since last April, Old Town Pizza has started to makes its presence known through an old-fashioned approach to delivery: old-style adult-size tricycles.

According to the Portland Business Journal, new owners Adam and Stephanie Milne are delivering pies via the three-wheelers to Portland's Old Town, Pearl District and downtown neighborhoods.

Adam Milne described the unique approach as half effective delivery vehicle and half marketing tool. The Milnes are also debuting a vintage-inspired outdoor advertising campaign in order to increase sales and attract new customers.

The Milnes bought Old Town Pizza from the Accuardi family, who opened it in 1974.
