Laguna Beach, California's zpizza is joining local schools in a nationwide campaign against bullying, the company said.

The company's campaign, Nice zSlice, is launching in schools across the nation for the October National Bullying Prevention month. The campaign's objective is to award children for kind behavior to others by offering Nice zSlice certificates. Teachers will award certificates to students who display courteous, thoughtful, encouraging and gracious behavior to other children. Winners can redeem certificates for a free pizza slice at zpizza locations.

"As a restaurant serving families in communities across the country, we want to help send a message that being kind to others is important in school and in life," said Chris Bright, president of zpizza, in a company announcement. "We’re excited to partner with local schools and teachers through the Nice zSlice program to help do our part in rewarding cooperation and respect on the playground and beyond."

"Our school motto is go out and be a 'Kid for Others,' and the Nice zSlice campaign is a great incentive for our students to help support our efforts and encourage our kids be the voice of change," said Principal Kim Cavnar of St. Francis Xavier in Phoenix, Ariz, in the announcement. "We are fortunate to have this opportunity with zpizza to recognize the kids beyond their academic achievements and in turn, promote compassion amongst our youth and safe learning environments all year round."
