Pizzerias have healthy showing on fast-growth concept list

RestaurantChains.net has just published its list of November 2009's Top 20 Fastest Growing Concepts, for the research period from July 21 to Oct. 20. Five of the 20 fastest-growing restaurants were pizzerias in the quick-serve, casual and take-out sectors. Restaurants were ranked by growth percentage.
Johnny's NY Style Pizza came in at No. 9, with three new stores added to its original 53 open at the start of the survey period. BJ's Restaurants came in right after it, with four units added to its start count of 84 locations. Pizza Patron added four new units to bring its total to 88 and No. 11 on RestaurantChains' list; Jet's Pizza and Marco's Pizza followed at No. 13 and 16 and seven and six new units, respectively. Famous Famiglia finished at No. 10 and three new units added to its original 114 at the survey starting date.
According to RestaurantChains.net, this quarterly list displays trimester to trimester recent growth captured during its "re-verification process"; information is derived and calculated from the continual process of interviewing and verifying more than 7,300 restaurant chain concepts. Most of the pizza chains that made this list were on the one prior, which surveyed the previous four-month report period.
