Police pursue connection between pizza store robberies

July 22, 2004

NORTH POTOMAC, Md. — Montgomery County Police are looking for links between two area pizza store robberies, according to The Sentinel Newspapers.

A July 12 robbery at a Pizza Hut and a July 9 robbery at a Papa John's Pizza store were so similar that Officer Joyce Utter said, "The investigators are re-interviewing witnesses and employees for both robberies."

Utter also noted that a recent spate of robberies in Montgomery County do not appear to be gang-related because they are spread out. She said an increased number of robberies sometimes occurs in the summer months when "there are more people out."
