Prince St. Pizza to make Louisiana debut near LSU

Prince St. Pizza will open its first Louisiana location on Oct. 9 in Baton Rouge, near the LSU campus, the company announced in a news release. The restaurant is being developed by Lawrence Kourie, the founding and largest franchise owner of Dave's Hot Chicken, who joined Prince St. Pizza in March to help expand the brand into new markets. Former UFC champion Jon Jones, who became a partner in the Baton Rouge location in August, will appear at the grand opening.

"We designed this kitchen around volume, because nothing in this city happens quietly," Kourie said in a company press release. "Opening on a Friday in October was intentional. Football weekends, a campus a few minutes up the road and a town that stays out late is about as close to Manhattan hours as the South gets."

Founded in Manhattan's Nolita neighborhood in 2012, Prince St. Pizza has since expanded to markets including Las Vegas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, Nashville and Miami.

The Baton Rouge restaurant will be open until 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and midnight Friday and Saturday.
