The Restaurant Loss Prevention & Security Association (formerly NFSSC), recently completed its 34th Annual Conference, at the M Resort, Aug. 4-7, in Las Vegas.
More than 300 LP professionals participated in the meeting, marking a nearly 30 percent increase from the year prior. Additionally, more than 70 vendor companies presented products, services and technologies aimed at keeping restaurant workplaces and their employees and customers, more safe, secure and efficient.
The keynote speaker was Don Fox, CEO, Firehouse Subs of America, who spoke about the power of branding and creating a work culture of positive change.
"The ability to stay customer focused and set high standards is what has helped Firehouse achieve its rapid growth," Fox said.
Other sessions included industry leaders covering topics such as planning and preparing for depositions, important changes in safety laws, phishing and fraud scams, smart safes, controlling food costs loss, emerging technologies and their effect on LP, mock disaster preparation, analytics, and roundtable debates on topics including exception based reporting and training and awareness programs.
"We're extremely excited about the continued growth of RLPSA and the annual meeting," said Jim Forlenza, executive cirector. "This is the fifth consecutive year of double-digit growth for our meeting and it really underlies the quality education being presented through a number of exciting speakers – as well as the unique nature of our networking opportunities. Education is the key to our organization and our community."
Through the efforts of the RLPSA member and vendor participants during the annual meeting, a check for more than $3,000 will be donated to the Three Square Food Bank. Three Square is a member of the Feeding America program and serves the Southern Nevada region.
