Round Table Pizza launches its largest-ever one-day charity event

October 10, 2014

Throughout this month, Round Table Pizza’s Family Charities arm is partnering with Make-A-Wish to raise funds for children battling life-threatening illnesses.

Customers who make a donation will be invited to write their name on a paper star, which will be displayed in Round Table restaurants. Donations will also be accepted via online orders.

According to a company news release, some employees have donated their tip money at the end of each shift to purchase Make-A-Wish stars, while others are selling stars to local businesses or with delivery orders.

"So far this year, Round Table has teamed up with Make-A-Wish to help make seven children’s wishes come true," CEO Rob McCourt said in the release. "We’ve met these children and invited them and their families to celebrate those wishes in our restaurants. Seeing them face-to-face makes every story of struggle and hope more real. They inspire us to do more for this cause. Our goal is to raise enough funds to help grant two wishes every month."

In addition to the month-long donation campaign, Round Table Family Charities has coordinated the biggest one-day charity event in its history. On Oct. 16, 204 Round Table restaurants in four states will donate 15 percent of in-store or phone-in orders when customers mention Make-A-Wish. Donations will benefit six different Make-A-Wish chapters, ensuring the funds stay within the local community.
