June 12, 2006

MELVILLE, N.Y. — Sbarro announced it will award free food through its PizzAchievers program to elementary-level students who received high marks in school.

According to a news release, on June 23, students who received As and Bs this year can present their report cards, say "A's and B's ... Pizza Please!" and receive a free slice of cheese or pepperoni pizza and a small soda for them and a parent.

"As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, it is our pleasure to invite elementary school students and their parents to celebrate their educational successes," said Peter Beaudrault, president and chief executive of Sbarro.

Sbarro was founded in 1956. It now operates about 980 pizza units.
