Smart marketing: Eaters drawn from around U.S. to pizza contest

Bradenton.com: Schiappa's, a pizzeria in O'Fallon, Fla., has developed a pizza eating contest centering on the team consumption of a 29-inch pizza in 30 minutes. Seven, two-person qualifying teams will face off to win a trip to Cancun, Mexico, later this year. The challenge recently drew two teams from Chicago, which finished the pizza in six minutes. Teams that don't finish in the required time pony up $45.
