Three Palestinians accused of attempted arson at Pizza Hut

April 28, 2002

KHALDEH, Lebanon -- Three Palestinians face charges of committing terrorist acts following a recent attempt to set fire to a Pizza Hut in Khaldeh.

According to The Daily Star, an English newspaper published in Beirut, Mohammed Aisha, Abdel-Rahim Issam Asaad and Issam Abdel-Rahim attempted to set a local Pizza Hut ablaze on April 24.

An official overseeing the case accused the three of using gasoline to set fire to the restaurant in an attempt to "sabotage American interests in this country."

Aisha is in custody while the other two are still at large.

If found guilty of the crimes, the three men face sentences of three to 15 years of hard labor.
