CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.—Three pizza delivery driver robberies occurring between May 23 and May 27 have operators here on high alert.
According to The Leaf Chronicle, Clarksville Police Department spokesman Lt. Geno Grubbs isn't certain whether the robberies are connected, since each incident occurred in different parts of the town. However, all appear to be set-ups in which a driver was lured to a delivery point and robbed.
In one incident, a female driver suffered minor injuries when she was hit in the head with a baseball bat and mugged. Drivers were threatened but not assaulted in the other crimes.
Grubbs advised operators to stress to their drivers to be fully aware of their surroundings before exiting their vehicles to make a delivery.
