Topper's creates new pizza to benefit charities

Topper's Pizza stores in Collingwood and Wasaga Beach, Ontario, have introduced the Collingwood General & Marine Spicy Bacon Ranch Chicken pizza, which will be available from now through Dec. 31. Two dollars from each of these specialty pizzas will go toward the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital's New Age of Care program.

The fundraising initiative started with a contest to name a new pizza flavor. Working with the hospital, Topper's Pizza invited staff members to submit recipe ideas which were then created by the Topper's team and voted on at a special tasting held at the hospital.

The winning pizza – Spicy Bacon Ranch Chicken – comes from Pharmacy Manager Rick Lorenz and features a buffalo wing and ranch sauce base, topped with chicken strips, bacon, onion, tomatoes, hot peppers, and a sprinkle of chili flakes on the melted cheese.
