Two Boynton pizza delivery drivers robbed within an hour

April 4, 2004

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla.—Within a single hour on the night of April 2, two Papa John's pizza delivery drivers were robbed at sites less than three miles apart.

According to the Palm Beach Post, around 9:18 p.m., as the first driver returned to her car following a delivery, two men approached her; one holding a black handgun. The pair took $5, but fled without injuring her.

At 10:06 p.m., officers responded to shots fired at a home where another Papa John's driver had suffered a gunshot wound to the left thigh.

According to police, the second driver's robbery was much like the first: Two men approached him as he walked back to his car after delivering a pizza. When he told the robbers he had no money, one pulled out a gun and shot him.
