Two franchisees to open 35 Toppers Pizza locations

Toppers Pizza has signed on two new franchisees and longtime "pizza people," who collectively are planning to open 35 locations in Colorado,Wyoming, Virginia and Maryland.

Joining the chain is Todd Geatches, formerly of Oliver’s, Papa John’s and Taco John’s, who will open 13 new Toppers Pizza locations in Colorado and Wyoming, according to company spokeswoman Sydney Gitelis.

New franchisee Mike McLaughlin, formerly of Domino’s, Papa John’s and Guys Burgers & Fries, will open 22 new locations in Virginia and Maryland, she said.

Gitelis said that  both men started their careers in pizza in the 1980s and are returning after forays into tacos and burgers because they connected with Toppers owner Scott Gittrich’s take on the business. 
 
"Now both have found a reason to come back to the industry they loved, rekindling their pizza passion by seeing the spirit within Toppers, that reminds them of the fun days when they caught the pizza bug in the 80s," said Gitelis in an email to this website.
