United Kingdom-based pizza chain Pizza Express is undergoing an experiment to improve customer relations. A theater director is teaching its employees how to "flirt" with customers, or just engage them more intensely, according to MarketingWeek U.K.

According to a video on the project website, Karl is hoping to help Pizza Express staff will have more 'flair' and be able to have conversations with their customers and embody "the living breathing bit of a restaurant."
The experiment is a multifaceted one, being conducted in its "living lab," the brand’s multimedia-rich testing grounds concept. The space allows the company to experiment with "everything from 'design and acoustics to service and food.'"
