Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint has signed a five-unit franchise development deal with Sha Nateghi, who will introduce the concept in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Uncle Maddio’s has two other franchise agreements to build 10 restaurants in south Alabama and already has its first Alabama restaurant open in Auburn and will open a second Daphne the first week of July.

According to a news release, Nateghi is a Jimmy John’s franchisee and is currently exploring sites for his first Uncle Maddio’s location in Birmingham.

“I investigated multiple concepts from big name concepts to small cupcake and yogurt chains,” he said in the release. “After sampling Uncle Maddio’s in Atlanta, I knew I wanted to be the first to introduce the growing concept to Birmingham and Tuscaloosa.”
