Vacumet launches compostable alternative to foil packaging

Vacumet Corp. has launched its new compostable metallized packaging papers, geared toward the quick-service and fast casual restaurant segments. The new papers are an environmentally-friendly alternative to foil, which are ideal for sandwich wraps and bags.

The new papers are tested and certified to be biodegradable in a managed composting facility, meeting ASTM D-6868 standards. They are available in a wide range of weights and functional performance characteristics.

"Our new line of compostable metallized papers offers a greener alternative to the foils currently used in food packaging," said Joe Formosa, director of Business & Technical Development at Vacumet. "Consumers are more aware of environmentally-conscious food packaging and we've developed a product that meets these needs."
