Yelp launches online ordering platform

July 11, 2013

Yelp has introduced Yelp Platform to allow people to order food directly from a select number of restaurants supported by and Eat24, including NYC's Harry's Italian Pizza Bar and Layaly Mediterranean Grill in San Francisco.

Eventually, consumers will be able to order whatever meal they're craving for delivery or pickup at thousands of local restaurants across the U.S., directly from those businesses' Yelp listings.

"We know people want an easy, streamlined consumer experience, and Yelp Platform is the next step in directly connecting users with millions of great local businesses," Jeremy Stoppelman, Yelp CEO, wrote in his blog.

The website has started with restaurants, but will eventually add categories, including spas, yoga studios, salons and more.

Yelp Platform is available on iOS, mobile web or desktop and is coming soon for Android.
