Your Pie proves 'squashed' pizza can be pretty darn tasty

Your Pie will introduce its newest seasonal Craft Series offering, the Roasted Butternut Squash Pie, on Wednesday. The item will be available through Jan. 2, a news release said.

The pie features a sweet, spicy ricotta base, topped with mozzarella and feta, sweet peppadew peppers, bacon, basil and roasted butternut squash on a crust made from hand-tossed dough and baked in a traditional brick oven.

"We’re always looking for new ways to feature fresh, seasonal vegetables on our pies, and we spent several hours in the test kitchen perfecting this particular combination," Your Pie founder and President Drew French said in the release. "The Roasted Butternut Squash Pie includes some of our favorite cold-weather flavors, and we can’t wait to share it."

The 9-year-old Craft Series presents five seasonal pizzas each year, with past offerings such as Chicken and Waffle Pie, Peach Pie and, most recently, the Loaded Baked Potato Pie.

This season, diners can top off their squash pie with an equally autumnal dessert, Crème Brûlée gelato, featuring vanilla custard with a layer of crisp caramelized sugar on top.
