Bob Vergidis, founder and chief vision officer at pointofsale.cloud discusses how in just one year, the COVID experience has moved the restaurant business 15 years into the future and provides three ideas of how restaurants can level up and meet the new moment.

Whether it's competing for customers or employees, small and emerging restaurant brands are often behind the starting line compared to national brands with huge budgets. Bob Vergidis, the founder of The Point of Sale Cloud, however, told attendees at the Restaurant Franchising and Innovation Summit last week in Atlanta about three ways they can step up their games. They included:

  1. Meet your customer at their moment.
  2. Tell your story.
  3. Be easy to work for.

"If you do those three things, you can start to play at the level as the big national chains," he said. "I think the real exciting growth in the industry will come from companies like yours. Papa John's, tomorrow, is not going to double the number of stores they have, right? But you can double the number of stores you have in two or three years.
