Plenty of new product launches expected at the National Restaurant Association Show
The National Restaurant Association’s annual Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show and International Wine Spirits & Beer Event kicks off this weekend in Chicago, and continues through Tuesday. This year’s show is expected to be bigger than last year’s and will include 580 new exhibitors.
Judging by our ringing phones and full inboxes, the event will also feature an abundance of new product and service launches, from the technology side of the business, to the menu offerings. Here are is a sampling of offerings that will make their debut on the vast show floor of McCormick Place:
Toshiba’s VisualTouch POS solution is now accepting bitcoin payments through its partnership with BitPay. Booth #9260.
NCR Corporation will demonstrate how the right technology “fit” – including POS systems and mobile payment capabilities – can help any restaurant of any size operate more efficiently, manage more profitably and drive consumer engagement. Booth #6229.
Panasonic System Communications Company of North America will showcase its latest integrated technology solutions for restaurants (booth #2024), including: the Panasonic Stingray Envo POS Workstation and Lite-Ray POS Workstation; digital menu boards; drive-thru solutions, including Panasonic Toughpad tablets for line busting, Attune II drive thru communication systems and outdoor digital menu boards; security systems such as the i-PRO SmartHD security cameras with facial recognition and matching technologies; and kitchen solutions including a new commercial vacuum series, rice cookers, steamers, microwave ovens and more.
Menu Masters will demonstrate its new iPad digital menu technology in Booth #7741. It allows travelers to brows food and beverage selections, place orders and pay checks, while the wait staff is supported by a wireless paging system, alerting them of ordering activity and requests for service.
Zioskwill showcase new features on its tabletop tablet solution, including a social media platform for its restaurant partners, camera technology so guests can take pictures from their table and share via social media, and a more efficient payments experience for guests. Booth #6479.
Healthy Dining representatives will be on hand at booth 9054 for free restaurant consultations to help operators meet varying nutritional needs.
Keurigis unveiling a new BOLT Carafe Brewing System, which brews a 64-ounce carafe of coffee and was created to serve a variety of foodservice applications, including quick-serve restaurants.
Schmacon will be on display at booth 9013. The smoked and cured glazed beef slices provide an alternative for those who do not eat pork products and have lower levels of sodium, fat and calories than traditional bacon.
Georgia Pacific will reveal results of its report, “The Future of Sustainability in Foodservice” at the show. The report was created in partnership with Technomic and provides framework for operators to embrace sustainability.
First Data will feature its Small Business Solutions, including the new Clover Station, a POS and business management solution in cloud-based tablet form for small to medium-size-business operators. Booth #1478.
The Howard Company Inc. will present its new digital drive-thru system geared to the QSR market.
BrightSign (booth 6267) will be demonstrating its work with Dinerware, and their point-of-sale system that integrates employee-facing POS with menu boards and other customer-facing digital signage. The BrightSign iOS App, BrightSign XD Smart Menu Boards and new BrightSign Web Application for designing menu boards with templates will also be on display.
Viralheat, booth #1964, will showcase strategic social media strategies and predictive social analytics.
Lavu Inc. will release several new products and partner solutions this weekend, including the new Epson partnership featuring smart printers, and a single terminal POS option with no upfront licensing fees. And, Lavu 88 is the name of the new single terminal POS option being offered with no licensing fees.
Cardlyticswill showcase a patented advertising technology that targets consumers based on their recent purchase behavior. Booth 6574.
Samsungwill show off a variety of new offerings at its booth, #9166. They include its Buzztime BEOND Guest Entertainment System; Signagelive Digital Menu Boards; SpotOn Loyalty Kiosk; I Love Velvet Mobile POS; EZmobilePrint Solution; UHD Commercial Displays; and Samsung Multifunction Printers and MobilePrint Application.
MICROS Systems Inc. is debuting the new MICROS mTablet E-Series and the MICROS Engagement Feature this weekend. Booth #6007.
Ecolab has developed a new product called Sanitizing Wash ‘n Walk, which includes a sanitizer that kills 99.9 percent of Listeria, E. coli, Salmonella and Staphylococcus on floors surfaces, in drains and mop buckets, the company said. Booth #4000.
Blue Marble Brands is launching its 12-inch gluten-free flour tortilla from Tumaro’s, for wraps, sandwiches and more. Booth #3476.
Easy2FIND, a new online analytics tool that simplifies food industry research and intelligence at the unit level, is making its debut at the show, created through a partnership between Technomic and CHD Expert. Booth #1852.
