ThePizza Executive Summit2010 was held June 13-15 in and around the Hotel Palomar in Chicago. Now in its second year, the event has been called "The Mac World of pizza industry conventions" -- and for good reason. A blend of innovative startups such as NakedPizza and Streetza Pizza and established chains including CiCi's and Papa John's were in attendance. They often complemented each other's views and solutions to industry imperatives like healtheir menu items, legislative initiatives, financing, franchisee support and development, and more.
One interesting addition to this year's event included the a social media station that listed real-time Twitter mentions and other media on the event, as well as a "guru" who provided hands-on direction for brands looking to try new initiatives.
