Bertucci's adds 8 dishes to menu

Bertucci's is adding starters, entrees and brick-oven pizzas to its lunch and dinner menus at all 57 locations, a news release said. 

Bertucci's Executive Chef Rosario Del Nero said a recent trip to Italy inspired the dishes. 

"I tasted the delicious combination of sweet figs with pungent Gorgonzola cheese in Northern Italy," she said in the release. "In my home city of Milan, risotto is always a favorite, while restaurants in Southern Italy are now including burrata in their dishes. We have incorporated fresh inspirations in our new dishes, and we hope our guests enjoy these new flavors."

The menu additions includes appetizers: fresh-baked garlic knots with pomodoro sauce and the pomodoro and cream-based tomato soup with fresh basil. The two brick-oven pies include Fig & Prosciutto and Bruschetta & Burrata. Lastly, the chain has added a Mushroom & Prosciutto Risotto in a porcini truffle wine sauce, as well as lunch classics, includeing Spaghetti Pomodoro and Spaghetti & Meat Sauce. 

Bertucci's is headquartered in Boston and has locations in 11 East Coast states.
