Blaze's new pie boasts built-in heat source

Blaze Pizza customers are getting "burned" in a good way with the brand's new Hot Link Signature Pizza, featuring house-made spicy red sauce. The offering is basically a punched-up version of the traditional sausage pizza, a news release said. 

The brand debuts the Hot Link on Sept. 4, with its heated-up red sauce topped with Italian sausage, jalapeños, banana peppers, mozzarella cheese, black olives and red onions.

"While our original red sauce is a classic, our spicy red sauce, made with roasted garlic cloves and jalapeño, has a cult following that really gets our fans fired up," Blaze Executive Chef Bradford Kent said in the release "They crave spicy food and a ton of flavor and we're excited to deliver a dose of heat with our newest Signature Pizza."

The item is among the many spice-laden features that have become so popular with brands across the restaurant industry for the last several years. The 6-year-old brand is backed by private equity firm, Brentwood Associates, and has been a Fast Casual Movers & Shakers top brand of the year.
