Central American chain launches Ecovention's GreenBox

February 29, 2012

In collaboration with manufacturing partner SigmaQ, Ecovention LLC has announced the launch of Telepizza's multifunctional GreenBox Technology Pizza Box.

Operated by Central American-based Pollo Campero, Telepizza is the first chain to bring the technology to Guatemala and El Salvador.

Using Ecovention's patented design, the GreenBox Technology's pizza box breaks down into four plates and a smaller container for leftovers, eliminating the need for disposable plates and ancillary storage materials such as aluminum foil and plastic wrap.

"We are thrilled to bring Ecovention's revolutionary technology to Central America," said Henry Yarhi, CEO of El Salvador-based SigmaQ. "The 'GreenBox Technology' product exemplifies SigmaQ's humanitarian and global vision of sustainable packaging solutions."

Ecovention, headquartered in New York City, provides design, licensing, manufacturing, subcontract management and logistics, with a mission to improve wasteful and outdated food packaging.

"Our company is excited to be furthering our relationship with SigmaQ and expanding our product's reach into another part of the world," said Jennifer Wright, co-founder of Ecovention.

Telepizza has more than 1,025 locations worldwide.
