CiCi's names real estate leader to help with nontraditional growth

Oct. 8, 2013

CiCi's Pizza has announced the hiring of Rick Hoying as the brand's new senior manager of Real Estate. With more than 25 years of franchising, Hoying will support CiCi's strategic growth strategy through real estate development in domestic and international markets as well as in nontraditional venues.

Among additional responsibilities, Hoying will also leverage broker relations to support corporate and franchise growth and will lead franchisees through the real estate development process.

For the first time in company history, CiCi's is looking to expand in nontraditional venues including airports and casinos. Company executives are currently exploring opportunities to bring the brand to Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

An industry veteran who's worked with such brands as Red Mango, Papa John's and Pizza Hut, Hoying has spent nearly his entire career in all aspects of real estate development.

"Richard comes to us at a time when CiCi's is positioned for strategic and tactical growth, and with his help, he will strengthen our system through in-depth real estate analysis and unparalleled venue and lease negotiation support," said Thomas McCord, VP of Real Estate and Franchising.

Looking to attract single and multiunit operators, CiCi's Pizza offers four revenue streams: the custom buffet, catering, To Go and the game room. Varying business prototypes (ranging from 750 to 3,600 square feet) are available to new and existing franchisees.
