Domino’s Pizza took another digital jump in delivery technology this week, announcing that it will use bot technology to let U.S. customers with a pizza profile order via Facebook Messenger, beginning today.
Domino's new ordering bot allows customers to place and track orders by clicking the message button on the chain’s Facebook page or by searching "Domino’s" in Messenger. This will access an order welcome screen, where customers can start their order by clicking the pizza emoji or tapping "recent order," "easy order" or "track."
"We know that customers spend a great deal of time messaging, so we knew the next place we needed to add ordering was via Messenger," Domino’s Vice President and Chief Digital Officer Dennis Maloney, said in a news release. "Messenger allows customers to order conversationally with the help of Domino's bot. We hope this new option will continue to make ordering as simple and as convenient as possible."
Domino’s online ordering options include Twitter, text, smart TV and Amazon Echo, among others.
