Donatos puts 3 more in Virginia

Donatos is expanding its footprint in Virginia with an agreement this week for three more locations there, this time in the Virginia Beach market, a news release said. The brand already has locations in Newport News and Vienna, Virginia.

Ricky Singh and Jay Patel, veteran franchisees whose portfolio includes Tropical Smoothie Café and Subway locations, have signed to develop the new locations. They plan to open their first Donatos store in the Hilltop neighborhood of Virginia Beach by year-end.

"Pizza is an exciting business, and Virginia Beach is an exciting place," Patel said in the release. "I have no doubt Donatos premium quality products and exceptional service will be met with warm reception among the local community."

Donatos Vice President of Development and Franchising Jeff Baldwin said the chain has an affinity for the commonwealth of Virginia.

"Virginia has been very good to us," Baldwin said in the release. "Two of our fastest-growing stores are in Virginia."
The Donatos franchise fee is $30,000, with the initial investments equaling approximately $361,360 and $697,400. The average unit volume exceeds $1 million, with about 2,000 to 2,500 square feet and roughly 30 primarily part-time employees per location, the company said.
