Fish-focused events, including the Lenten season being celebrated by many Christians, can be real puzzlers for pizza chains. Rapid Fired Pizza, however, thinks it has a solution for fish eaters in Southern Ohio: Shrimp Alfredo pizza.
That's where the chain is now serving its new seafood-embellished pies to accolades and applause from the awaiting crowd of diners who've come to love the seasonal selection, the chain said. Between now and Easter on April 15, the chain is offering the LTO on a thin crust with Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, seasonings and pesto, according to a company news release.
"Lent is important to many people, so we wanted to make sure there were options that please our customers from all walks of life," chain co-founder Ray Wiley said in a news release.
The brand also offers pan and gluten-free "no doh" crusts, with a choice of eight sauces and cheeses, as well as 30 toppings and 19 dipping sauces. It also features a selection of salads all under 400 calories, the release said. Rapid Fired open its first site less than two years ago, but expects to be operating 35 sites by year's end.
