Food Network's Chopped to debut first-ever pizza episode

Pizza expert Bruno DiFabio will join chefs Amanda Freitag (Empire Diner) and Alex Guarnaschelli (Butter) to preside over the first-ever pizza episode of Chopped. The chefs have pizza dough as a basket ingredient in every single round.

The episode will air at 9 p.m. Feb. 2 on the Food Network, with an encore Feb. 4 at 9 p.m.

According to a news release, the participating chefs will be expected to make a "pizza perfect meal." Unusual toppings will be required for the entrée round, and finalists will also be asked to make a dessert pizza using candied mushrooms and salted caramel sauce.
