The Waukon Standard: When Yosef and Bluma Abrams traded their big-city life for a farm and dairy business they found a niche they could fill in the kosher cheese and pizza industry. The traditional Jewish couple has developed their own kosher recipes for cheddar, muenster, mozzarella, havarti, baby swiss, and other cheeses and recently began making pizzas.
The couple has catered Jewish events and found that others like themselves from larger metro areas traded their dining choices for the bucolic life of Iowa, but still had a taste for great pizza. They focus on handmade quality and a flavor Yusef recalls from growing up in an Italian neighborhood in Chicago.
