Kentucky pizzeria launches promo for March Madness 'Bluegrass Battle'

March 25, 2014

Things are a little tense in the Bluegrass State, as the Louisville Cardinals and Kentucky Wildcats prepare for their Sweet 16 battle in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament on Friday night.

One pizza concept is taking advantage of this rare occasion on which rival schools meet in the postseason madness of March. Louisville-based BoomBozz Pizza & Taphouse is offering free pizza for a year to anyone who can guess the winner of Friday's game, as well as the exact score.

"This is an exciting time for the state of Kentucky, and we are so grateful that we can be a part of it," founder Tony Palombino said in a news release. "The chances of this happening again are pretty slim — so enter, and enjoy the game."

Fans can enter the contest via BoomBozz's Facebook page,, by 9 p.m., March 28.
