Marco's has promoted former Executive Vice President of Operations Tony Libardi to the position of COO for the chain. The move brings marketing, employee engagement, corporate and franchise operations, and learning and development under his oversight, according to a news release.
Marco's said Libardi strongly adheres to a service profit model. As a result, he plans to fine-tune and implement a number of new best practices designed to fulfill brand promises for both a "better pizza" and "better guest experience." This priority will include implementing an updated workflow design, an e-learning platform and hiring and retention employee engagement practices.
"We’ve been working on these new operational practices and fine-tuning them for years," Libardi said in a news release. "Our employees and partners will appreciate the simplified and more accessible flow that our new system brings."
Libardi previously worked as VP of operations for Burger King, during a period that the press release said the brand experienced an increase of 6.5 percent in sales and 35 percent in restaurant profitability year over year in 2012.
