Mellow Mushroom partners with bank to promote environmentalism, pizza

Central Florida's Mellow Musroom locations have partnered with Orlando's First Green Bank to give customers freebies when they open a checking account before the end of the year with the environmentally missioned bank, according to a company press release.

"As a values-based business driven by sustainability, we are passionate about ensuring that our customers have access to quality food made from fresh, locally-grown ingredients — which makes Mellow Mushroom the perfect restaurant to partner with for this initiative," said First Green Bank CEO Keith Costello.

Through the co-promotion, participants get $20 "Mellow Bucks" per month for the 12-month period after they open a new account with the bank, as long as they deposit at least $1,000 in the account each month. The "bucks" can be used for food purchases at four Mellow Mushroom locations in Central Florida. First Green Bank is one of the nation's first banks with an environmental and social mission.
