New games and the business they bring -- coming to tabletops everywhere

Helping customers get their game on is getting ever-easier, according to E la Carte, which announced that its delivering more guest-facing games to customers' tables. Its great news for gaming gurus everywhere, but also for restaurateurs who are profiting from the relatively new dining room pastime, said E la Carte's Head of Entertainment Stacy Rademacher.

Restaurateurs that have the E la Carte system in dining rooms — and there are about 1,800 of those nationally at the moment — can now add table-top tantalizers like Duckie Deck, Global Gaming Initiative and Kurius Games, according to a company press release.

"We are at a unique point in time as we are revolutionizing the way restaurants engage their customers on a digital platform," Rademacher said. "Our partnerships with these top entertainment publishers not only differentiates our platform and builds credibility in the restaurant technology space, but more importantly, makes a significant positive impact on the guest dining experience by providing games that appeal to all ages."

E la Carte's Presto Systems are deployed on more than 85,000 stations in food service dining rooms and bars, including those at Apple American Group restaurants.

"The Presto Smart Dining System has not only improved our front-of-house efficiencies, but it has brought us an entirely new revenue stream with its interactive gaming content," said group Marketing Partner Diann Banaszek. "Many guests love that the games provide a means for entertainment while they dine with us at our Applebee's restaurants."

Through that system, guests can not only play games, but also control how they order food and pay.
