November 1, 2018

Restaurateurs seeking those exotic and sometimes offbeat ingredients that can often make the critical difference to any offering got a new online marketplace this week with the launch of Snuk Foods. The company specializes in making the tough-to-find ingredients and other products from across the global available to innovative brands, a news release said.

The company's online catalog includes more than 2,000 items, ranging from hard-to-find grains, flours, beans and lentils, herbs and spices and bottled condiments, to prepared foods and other artisan kitchen goods. Here's a smattering of some examples:

  • Koon Chun Black Vinegar from China
  • Swad Chutneys from India
  • ZiBA Afghan Nuts and Fruits from Afghanistan
  • Red Boat Fish Sauce from Vietnam
  • Canaan Cold Pressed Olive Oil from Palestine
  • Mymoune Preserves and Jams from Lebanon
  • Zanae Mixed Vegetables from Greece
  • Hangea Korean Fruit Vinegars
  • Burlap & Barrel Single Origin Spices
  • Brooklyn Delhi Specialty Condiments
  • Kalustyan's Spice Blends

Snuk Foods also partners with premium purveyors such as The Japanese Pantry, Regalis, Gotham Grove and New York City international specialty food provider, Kalustyan's to offer hundreds of spice blends and chutneys, among other products.

The marketplace includes information on products' countries of origin, ingredients, nutritional facts Halal and Kosher certification, as well as whether they are USDA certified organic, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO.

By the way, if you're wondering what "Snuk" means? It's a translation of a Thai word for "fun" which clearly kitchen innovation is for any brand's customers.
