California pizza chain, Woodstock's Pizza. has enlisted new tech to control underage drinking at its locations, choosing Intellicheck's Age ID to prevent alcohol sales to minors at two locations near San Diego State University and UC Santa Barbara.
Age ID will be deployed to all seven Woodstock's locations in northern and southern California by year's end to authenticate driver licenses and other forms of government-issued identification and spot altered and fake IDs.
"Our values as responsible members of the communities we serve include our dedication to assuring underage guests do not have access to alcoholic beverages," the brand's Vice President and Operations Manager Tom Soucek said in the release. "For all of us at Woodstock's Pizza, assurance goes beyond regulatory compliance. It is about our core commitment as a family-owned business."
Through the service, the chain can authenticate IDs and verify age information in real-time with 99.9 percent accuracy. It can be deployed on mobile devices including smartphones and tablets and can be integrated with point-of-sale solutions. The technology draws on a comprehensive and constantly updated proprietary database to ensure accuracy.
The San Diego-based independent chain said it is the No. 2 independent U.S. pizzeria in sales.
