NRA names new SVP of ServSafe

The National Restaurant Association announced the appointment of Sherman Brown as senior vice president of business and financial strategy for its ServSafe Food Safety Program. Previously, Brown served as the NRA's vice president of finance and strategy where he was responsible for the management and direction of strategic business and financial analysis.

In his role as SVP, Brown will oversee the strategic direction, financial management, and daily operations of the product and services business for ServSafe. He will be accountable for protecting and growing the ServSafe brand and the oversight of training, education and testing solutions, according to a news release.

"Sherman has done an outstanding job of running our ServSafe business lines and promoting our brand throughout the years and we are excited to expand his leadership role as senior vice president," said Phil Kafarakis, chief innovation and member advancement officer. "His experience as a financial and operational strategist in a variety of diverse industries from high-growth, non-profit organizations to Fortune 500 corporations makes Sherman the perfect fit to grow our ServSafe program."
