Oggi's Pizza uses beers to create summer menu

Oggi's Sports, Brewhouse, Pizza has a new menu focused on summer produce that pairs each dish with a locally brewed craft beer. Oggi's Executive Chef Jason Tsiamese said he developed the menu's four summer offerings by picking the beer first.

"We launch a new featured menu every season and we wanted to try something new for the Summer Lovin' menu," he said in a company release. "Instead of developing the dishes then pairing them with our award-winning craft beers, we did it the other way around. We selected our most popular brews and worked backward, creating menu items that focus on summer produce and enhance the flavors of our craft beers — our new featured menu is paying homage to them. We are really proud of what we've come up with."

Two salads, a sandwich and a side are included in the new menu as listed below:  

  • Summertime Salad: Arugula, pickled red onions, candied walnuts, dried cranberries, apples and Feta cheese with an option of chicken or shrimp, tossed in a honey lemon vinaigrette with Oggi's Duck Dive.  
  • SoCal BBQ Chicken Salad: A spring mix blend tossed in Sante Fe dressing, with black beans, sweet corn, chopped tomato, fresh cilantro, Gouda, onion strings and chopped chipotle BBQ chicken with McGarvey's Scottish Ale.  
  • Southern Chicken Sandwich: Southern-style buttermilk fried chicken smothered in American Swiss cheese topped with roasted shallot aioli, shredded iceberg lettuce, sliced tomato, pickles and avocado on a brioche bun with California Gold.
  • Crispy Brussels Sprouts: Fried Brussels sprouts, Fresno chiles and shallots tossed in a Sriracha soy glaze and finished with green onions and sesame seeds, accompanied by the Hoppily Ever After IPA.

Oggi's now has 15 full-service and one express location.
