Papa John's chicken & waffle pie coming to North America

Papa John's turned to its customers to drum up its latest pizza creation. They chose something few might predict: Chicken & Waffles pizza. 

In a contest that ended earlier this month, the brand polled customers to find out which of four possible pizza concoctions they would most like to see materialize, according to Food & Wine. 
The choices included Huevos Rancheros, featuring chorizo and eggs, as well as The Roast with smoked pulled pork and sweet chili hoisin barbecue sauce and a doughless rendition, The Un-Pizza and Hot Honey Chicken & Waffles. 

Among more than 52,000 votes cast, the crispy chicken creation with waffle crumbles, bacon, cheese, and spicy honey won out and will appear on the chain's North American stores' menus later this year. But apparently, the winning pie is already in the works because Papa John's responded to a request for what the pie might look like on Twitter with a picture of a fully assembled pie.
