Piada Italian Street Food is betting its new three-tiered leadership development and incentive program will help the brand attract and retain top restaurant talent, according to a company press release.
"At the heart of this initiative is a desire to bring strong, effective restaurant leaders into our company and to develop them for meaningful, long-term careers at Piada," said Chris Doody, founder, CEO and president. "We understand that in a difficult employment market, we have to identify compelling ways to engage potential and current team members and to build within them a sense of ownership and pride in their restaurant."
The chain has also hired Diane Neville as vice president of people services, according to the release, which said that she comes to the brand from previous human resources positions with P. F. Chang's, Grimaldi's and Pei Wei Asian Diner.
"Joining Piada at a time of such rapid growth and in such a complex hiring environment means we have great opportunities and challenges ahead," Neville said in the release. "Quite simply, in order to compete, we have to offer a better overall compensation and incentive package, a clearer path for advancement, and a strong demonstration of the tangible and intangible benefits of a career with Piada."
