Pie Five plans expansion into Houston market

Sept. 27, 2013

Pie Five Pizza Company, which made its debut in 2011 in the Dallas market, is planning a "major expansion" into Houston.

According to a news release, Pie Five will add company-owned restaurants throughout the Houston area beginning in early 2014.

"Houston is the natural next step for Pie Five's expansion, now that we have a solid and rapidly expanding base of restaurants in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and more than 100 franchise units under contract in 11 states," said Chris Smith, vice president of Operations for Pie Five Pizza Co., a subsidiary of Pizza Inn Holdings. "It's not an exaggeration to say that we're changing the way people experience pizza, and I have no doubt our friends in the Bayou City will love what we're bringing to their area."

Pie Five now has 12 locations in Texas and one each in Kansas, North Carolina and Utah. Total announced franchise restaurants under contract currently number 105 in Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Texas, Utah and Virginia.

Matt Keener with CBRE has been tasked with scouting locations for Pie Five throughout the Houston area.
