Pie Five recruits NHL legend, MLB pitcher for new campaign

March 4, 2014

NHL legend Mike Modano, who will have his jersey retired by the Dallas Stars this week, and Texas Rangers pitcher Derek Holland, are both participating in Pie Five's new marketing campaign.

As part of the campaign, Modano announces he prefers his Pie Five pizza on artisan thin crust with double cheese and nine pepperonis. Holland orders his favorite pie with BBQ sauce, mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, chicken, red onions and cilantro on "Chicago-style" pan crust.

According to a news release, both athletes have filmed new TV spots for Pie Five Pizza that began airing in the Dallas-Fort Worth market this week.

"As you might expect, Derek and Mike were a lot of fun on set, and they seemed to enjoy scarfing down their favorite Pie Five Pizza during the multiple takes," said Randy Gier, CEO. "All of us at Pie Five are big fans of both local stars, and we were happy to know they're fans of our pizza, too."

Pie Five's new campaign, produced by RD&F Advertising, will have an initial six-week run. The spots will air during primetime on AMC, Comedy Central, Fox Sports Southwest, Discovery, FX, TBS and TNT.
