Pizza Hut has now added what it calls "contact-less curbside pickup" at participating restaurants nationwide, available to customers who check a designated box at checkout. The brand is also using newly introduced pizza box safety seals, implementing pre-shift temperature checks, installing counter shields and distributing nearly 13 million non-surgical grade masks to employees, a news release said.

The company said with more than 60% of online delivery orders now marked for contactless delivery, the new curbside contactless option caters to those who want to stay in their cars, but still pick up their orders. Under the procedure, customers give vehicle details before pre-paying with a debit or credit card. At the store, a gloved team member will bring out your pizza and place it in your car.

Beginning next week, the company is also using tamper-proof safety seals on all medium and large pizza boxes, dinner boxes and Big Dipper orders. And also for customers, the brand said it is deferring expiring Hut Rewards Points for members, so that points set to expire between April 13 and June 30 are now extended until mid-October. For members with points that expired between March 15 and April 12, those points have been returned to member accounts and are available to redeem for free pizza, wings and more.

For store employees, more than 10 million non-surgical grade masks will be sent to in-restaurant team members over what the brand said would be "coming weeks." Masks have already been deployed to Pizza Hut restaurants located in hot zones around the country, and additional supply will start arriving for use by Pizza Hut team members at other restaurants beginning next week.

Additionally, the company is instituting temperature check procedures in "coming weeks," while sending front counter protective shields for installation at stores, using disposable gloves for all guest-facing restaurant team members, and those handling food after thorough handwashing and sanitization. Pizza Hut has more than 18,000 restaurants globally.
