Pizza Hut puts 'contactless' deal in play

Pizza Hut said its contactless delivery means the pie isn't touched after it's put in the oven (photo provided).

April 1, 2020

Like most brands working to maintain sales during the pandemic, Pizza Hut is working to make deals to meet the needs of customers forced to stay at home, particularly families. The latest offer from the Yum Brands restaurant is a large three-topping pie for $9.99 from the Yum Brands restaurant, according to its blog.

Pizza Hut said demand for contactless delivery has increased substantially during the outbreak. Since March 26, adoption rates for contactless delivery have almost doubled. Contacless delivery means hands are not placed on the product from the time the pie leaves the oven until it is delivered to the customer. All pizza boxes are protected in airtight liners to prevent any direct handling, as well, then sealed and delivered to homes, without the pie being touched once after it is baked in a 400-degree oven.

PIzza Hut is also offering contactless options for carryout and curbside pickup. The brand has 18,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries.
