Dec. 9, 2007
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Pizza Marketplace has unveiled its 2007 Pizza Marketplace Industry Study, an in-depth look at trends and topics in the pizza industry around the globe.
The study includes performance snapshots of the top public pizza chains, an overview of the international pizza market and the results of an in-depth survey of more than 450 pizzeria operators. Topics covered range from trends in toppings to the growing popularity of take and bake, to safety and security issues and technology.
"We uncovered some surprising trends when conducting research for the 2007 Pizza Marketplace Industry Study," said Richard Slawsky, editor of PizzaMarketplace.com. "Operators are finding amazing opportunities in areas you wouldn't expect to be strong markets for pizza, including the Middle East and Asia. Here at home, the industry is changing dramatically in order to adapt to consumers' changing tastes."
Included in the study are commentaries from top industry experts such as Papa Murphy's Al Randazzo, Garlic Jim's Dwayne Northrop and Burke Corporation's Liz Hertz.
