SpeedLine introduces new tablet ordering, mobile reporting

Feb. 5, 2014

POS provider SpeedLine Solutions Inc. has launched a new tablet ordering platform and enhanced mobile reporting for faster service and remote management.

According to a news release, SpeedLine 7 introduces support for new Windows tablets for order entry, providing options to reduce upfront hardware costs and serve guests more flexibly in the dining room, on the patio, or at the front counter. Users can mount a tablet securely at the counter or on the wall; or pick it up and take it to a table, out on the patio, or to the next person in line.

"In the '90s, touchscreen point of sale terminals replaced clunky, feature-limited cash registers in restaurants around the world, " said SpeedLine Marketing Manager Jennifer Wiebe. "Today, while full-scale POS terminals still fit many restaurant applications, mobile technology is driving another evolution at the point of sale. In the latest release of SpeedWeb, restaurant operators and area managers get live stats and reports on their smartphones — in a convenient, mobile-friendly format that lets them work on the business without having to be in it every minute of the day."
