Uno pizzeria is partnering with Venice Bakery to offer customers a gluten-free pizza crust, according to a company press release. A news release said that Venice Bakery, based in L.A., is one of the nation's largest manufacturers of gluten-free dough.
"The crust is so important to a great pizza," said Uno's Executive Chef Andre Fuehr. "We have tasted every gluten-free pizza crust on the market, but none compares in quality and taste to this outstanding product."
The gluten-free pizza now comes in cheese, pepperoni and veggie flavors but will offer grilled chicken, goat cheese and caramelized onion gluten-free pizza in February. All gluten-free menu items are prepared in a special area that is equally free of gluten, which a growing number of Americans either choose not to eat or cannot eat due to Celiac Disease or gluten intolerance, according to the release.
