The prices for cheese, wheat, gasoline, natural gas and pizza stocks fell last week. Details are below.
Cheese
Average block cheese prices increased 1 cent during the week on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Prices were $1.46 Monday and Tuesday and hit $1.47 Wednesday- Friday. The previous week's prices were $1.46 Monday, $1.46 Tuesday, $1.46 Wednesday, $1.46 Thursday and $1.46 Friday.
Wheat
Wheat prices decreased 9 cents to $4.91 from the previous week on the Minneapolis Grain Exchange. It was $5 the previous week.
Gasoline and diesel fuel
Monday's nationwide average for regular unleaded gasoline decreased to $1.74 from $1.80 the previous week, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
Prices are down from $1.99 a month ago, and are significantly lower than this time last year, when consumers were paying $2.18 at the pump.
Mid-range remained decreased 6 cents from last week to $2.02, while Monday's premium unleaded price was $2.26, down 5 cents from last week.
The nationwide average for diesel fuel decreased to $2.02, down 3 cents from $2.05 last week. Diesel prices were also $2.23 a month ago, and 58 cents down from a year ago, when prices were $2.81.
Natural gas
Natural gas prices generally fell this report week (Wednesday, Jan. 27, to Wednesday, Feb. 3), with more dramatic declines in the northeastern United States. The Henry Hub spot price fell from $2.24 per million British thermal unit (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $2.06/MMBtu yesterday.
At the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex), the price of the near-month (March 2016) contract fell from $2.189/MMBtu last Wednesday to $2.038/MMBtu yesterday.
Pizza company stocks
Shares in Pizza Hut parent Yum! Brands Inc closed Friday at $69.49, down from last week's $72.37.
Domino's finished last week at $110.37, down from last week's $113.93.
Papa John's closed Friday at $45.70, down from $47.75 the previous week.
Shares in Papa Murphy's closed Friday at $8.95, down from last week's $9.49. Four weeks ago it closed at $10.26.
